Q&A with Energy Gain

Q&A with Energy Gain

We caught up with our partner, Energy Gain at our Partner Day at Bank in Birmingham, to find out how working with True Group has helped them deliver better services for their customers.

Energy Gain are renewable energy specialists that help businesses understand and reduce their carbon footprint, by delivering bespoke carbon consultancy and large‑scale solar energy solutions.

Together, we help customers not only pinpoint opportunities to decarbonise and reduce operating costs, but also confidently assess, plan and implement the right clean energy solutions, marrying data‑driven strategy with real‑world delivery. This means hospitality, manufacturing and commercial businesses can accelerate their sustainability goals with clarity and confidence, backed by transparent modelling and trusted expert execution

Here's what they had to say.

Q: What does collaborating with True Group allow Energy Gain to do differently, when you're speaking to hospitality clients about renewables.

Partnering with True Group gives us the ability to offer data-driven, holistic view of energy performance. So rather than just selling energy and solar as a standalone solution, it allows us to integrate other technologies to offer a wider view for the client and reduce their Scope 2 emissions.

Q: What's the biggest misconception operators still have about solar onsite generation?

The popular misconception is around the generation and whether or not the radiance values are real. The radiance being, how much generation happens. There’s various different metrics you can use to analyse that. Various different weather patterns, areas of the country over installation of buildings and others like that. Very scientific calculations that sit behind it, but it absolutely works. There's a lot of advantages. A popular misconception is that it doesn't work in the winter. It does, it just drops. The panels will still operate and it will still operate to high levels of efficiency. Just not as they do in the summer, but they absolutely do generate in the winter still.
